WICHITA FALLS – A Walmart Neighborhood Market is one step closer to arriving on Southwest Parkway across from McNeil Junior High.
In order to make this happen, the company needed Wichita Falls City Council members to make an exception to an ordinance that prohibits alcohol from being sold within 300 ft. from a school.
That exemption was recently passed by the city council.
The Neighborhood Market brand of Walmart is different from the three Superstores already in Wichita Falls.
The next step is to review the site plan for the 43,000-sf grocery store.
City leaders said the new store will help the local economy.
